The topic of this course is dedicated to digital aesthetic dentistry on anterior teeth, following the chair-side workflow. When planning a new smile, we must achieve two different objectives related to clinical aspects and marketing. Simulating the final result directly in the patient’s mouth is essential, because this step allows us to evaluate the impact of our project not only on the anterior teeth but on the entire face of the patient, also assessing canine and incisal guidance and, if necessary, changes in vertical dimension.
The program will always take into consideration the needs of the patient treated during the course, meaning that together we will create the definitive treatment plan by considering all aspects that could influence the final result, not only from a clinical point of view but also from a psychological perspective.
During the course, I will show you all the step-by-step protocols of a live case, from smile design to the cementation of prosthetic devices.
The Course Program

• How to best sell your treatment?
• Create an emotional and interactive presentation for your patient.
TOOTH PREPARATION AND CAD-CAM WORKFLOW
Preparation concept: this step is probably one of the most delicate in the entire workflow and must be carried out carefully in order to achieve predictable results.
Preparation techniques: what type of preparation? why?
• Preparation starting from the mock-up;
• Silicone index to control the preparation;
• Preparation under the microscope;
• Immediate dentin sealing;
• Preparation control using digital tools;
• Gingival retraction systems.
Optical impression
• General concepts of digital impression;
• Digital design strategies: “Biocopy”, “Copy & Mirror” and “Biogeneric Individual”;
• Mock-up scanning techniques;
• Scanning techniques of prepared teeth;
• Scanning technique to create the “gingival mask” in anterior cases after soft tissue conditioning;
• 3D printing.
Digital planning of the treated case using CEREC software and materials
• Step-by-step virtual smile design;
• Digital tools;
• Milling and grinding;
• Burs: to optimize the final result;
• Materials: what does the market offer today? Ceramics, composites and hybrid materials – material selection criteria.
FINALIZATION OF PROSTHETIC DEVICES AFTER MILLING: POLISHING TECHNIQUE • COLORING TECHNIQUE • CUT-BACK TECHNIQUE • CEMENTATION • MAINTENANCE
General concepts related to micro- and macro-texture, morphology, and smile naturalness
• Step-by-step polishing technique: which materials? which tools? which indications?
• Step-by-step coloring technique: which materials? which tools? which indications?
• Step-by-step cut-back technique: which materials? which tools? which indications?
Cementation: step-by-step protocol
• Isolation of the operative field with a rubber dam;
• Management of prosthetic devices before cementation for the different usable materials;
• Step-by-step cementation procedures.
Maintenance of restorations after cementation
• How to maintain all prosthetic devices after cementation: step-by-step protocol;
• Which instruments should be avoided to prevent damage to thin veneers?
• Conclusions
